Exciting ascent to Puig Campana organized

Yesterday over fifty citizens of l'Alfàs del Pi and surrounding towns enjoyed the classic ascent of neighbouring Finestrat’s Puig Campana and reached its summit at 1400 m altitude.  It was an ideal day for the effort with high clouds and smooth temperatures.  The journey was an exciting and attractive hike organized within the "Discover Nature" Program of l’ Alfàs del Pi’s Sports Council in cooperation with the Valencian delegation of the of Spanish Nordic Walking Association (ANE).

The ascent was made in two groups, one who climbed the southwest face - la pedrera (the quarry) - and the other that did the same from the easier accessable north face.  Both groups met at the mountain pass and from there climbed to the peak together.

After recovering strengths on the summit while admiring a wonderful and incredible scenery of the Costa Blanca, all participants began the descent on the north face path.  The excursion finished without any incidence and with the satisfaction of having risen to one of the highest peaks of the Valencian Region.
